What Diners Are Saying

"We stopped at 24th Street Cafe on our drive back from Las Vegas to San Francisco based on a Google recommendation. There’s limited seating inside, but there’s an air-conditioned terrace which is a real bonus. The classic diner look and feel delivers on that nostalgic charm, and it’s clear this spot has a devoted local following. The menu is extensive, with lots of the diner staples, but also a number of specials. Our food was delicious, well-prepared, and arrived quickly. Which is exactly what you need when you’re on the move. If you’re passing through Bakersfield, don’t miss this hidden gem. We’ll definitely make it a regular stop on our travels!"

"Crystal and her co-workers were great during our 7am visit on a Monday morning this summer. We liked the atmosphere inside but the neighborhood is slightly blighted. We did not order the pumpkin pancakes of Food Network game. We got grilled cornbread and ciabata French toast. Hot chocolate was good and our water glasses were refilled like 6 times. Decor is typical diner antique, which is fun for phone free conversation. Cornbread was dry but the mushroom and drizzled flavored it up nicely. Mashed potato has cheese in it which added some extra flavor there. French toast was as expected with fresh berries on top. A variety of patrons, seating options, and knowledge of food allergies added to this pleasant experience."

"This place was so cute and small and we were greeted by the nicest servers ever. Holly was our waitress and she was one of the best I ever had in my life! I’ve lived mostly vegetarian For the last seven years of my life And whenever I eat out, I always have to ask if I can make certain things vegetarian or what options they have. When I mentioned to Holly that I was vegetarian without hesitation, she started listing off all of the things they had on the menu and certain things they had off the menu that were vegetarian and I have never had that happened to me in the seven years I’ve been vegetarian. It was so nice feeling included and not having to ask and someone being educated about it. She was extremely attentive and personable and we will be back for her! The food was also, very authentic absolutely amazing. I got hashbrowns, sourdough bread, and eggs, and my partner had a New York steak sandwich. Everything was made with care and it all looked fresh. I left the decorations in this establishment and everything was just amazing. I can’t believe we just barely found this place. we will definitely be back. We had an amazing amazing time."
