What Diners Are Saying

"Great Mexican/fusion food! We tried the aggs ahogado and the Cajun chicken sandwich. The chicken was a bit drier than I would have loved but it was still decent. They have a huge menu, lot of interesting alcohol options to choose from as well. They specialize in fresh baked sweet/savory empanadas as well. Our server was also polite and patient. Would definitely visit again."

"There is a plethora of options. They have standard fare, like tuna melts and scrambles. The sides of fries and hash browns are ginormous. They have Mexican twists on brunch classics but also regular Mexican burritos, chilaquiles. Even for drinks, they have many fun choices. For example, they have three types of alcoholic coffee, including a Mexican coffee with tequila and Bailey’s. I shared eggs ahogado and an eggs benedict with my friend. The eggs ahogado was so chock full of goodies: many slices of avocado, sausages, potatoes, fried cheese, and of course the poached eggs. I will say the poached eggs were a lot overcooked. The eggs benedict were perfect though. They have about twenty or so flavors of empanadas here. I got the banana and nutella one because banana desserts are the best. I wasn’t a big fan; the shell was super dry. I was kind of interested in some of the other flavors like arroz con leche but there were so many desserts to try, I don’t think I would get another empanada. In terms of banana desserts, they have Banana Fosters French toast and a banana waffle."

"An amazing atmosphere, from the moment you are enter you are greeted by a relaxing dim lit space, while wheel chair accessibility may be hindered by the narrow nature of the hall the place does offer outdoor seating, we started our meal with a coffee, I had a try at the kids meal the French fries and toast and I’m glad to say, quality is present even in kids dishes. Then my dish came the Crab, prawn, avocado. The crab and prawn cake on top of the English muffin topped with a garnish and avocado and a hollandais sause. Do not be fooled by the scale relative to the plate every dish that was presented was impressive in presentation and taste. I then had a try for desert at the berry crepe, the flavor not only was pleasant but I personally felt like I was transported to a walk on the side of a pond in spring the strawberry in the crepe added texture to the paste giving it a refreshing crunch and gushing flavor that elevated the dish far beyond your standard presentation you see in conventional crepes. Overall this place is a must have to anyone looking for a quality treat in San Jose I can guarantee you will enjoy this American latin fusion cafe."

"First, let me start by saying if you haven’t been to Cheff Che, run, don’t walk! The food at this establishment is to die for. Every single item that was ordered was delicious, pleasing to the eye, and was at the right temperature. The staff was welcoming and even offered suggestions on their most popular items. The empanadas are also a must. We tried the guava & cheese and the mango & cheese, and both were a flavor explosion. I cannot imagine anyone coming here and not enjoying the food. Just superb!"
