What Diners Are Saying
"We had a nice evening at Collina and came in with very high expectations after reading the many great food reviews here and seeing a few videos on instagram. First off, the restaurant is cozy and very inviting, perfect for our dinner conversation. Service was impeccable. We want to stress that nothing in this review is related to the service we had as it was outstanding. Food came out quickly, table was cleaned between each meal change, new plates/silverware, etc. We ordered the following appetizers: olives, arancini, tuna tartare, house special baked cheese. We felt something was missing from the taste of the food, even just more salt and maybe pepper would have gone a long way. We just had high expectations coming in considering price and having been to comparable Italian places such as Cotogna. The octopus dish was one of our favorites of the night and had a nice balance of citrus and salt. We also ordered all 4 pasta dishes. The spaghettini was delightful, with a good chili flavor and tomato sauce. The lasagna also had a tasty meat sauce and was beautifully presented. The gnocchi dish was the disappointment. Gnocchi is really dense (should be pillow like) and the sauce almost has a grassy taste. Would not recommend ordering this dish. Raviolo was a tasty dish as well. Tiramisu is our favorite dessert and this is a more dry tiramisu. Felt light on the mascarpone and more like a whipped cream."- Matthew Karim
"fantastic italian restaurant bringing all the learnings from seven hills to its sister restaurant. although not as mind blowing as the OG, collina stands on its own with its tasty (albeit pricy) dishes and extensive wine list. service was also good but nothing too fancy aranchini: above average and tasty gem salad: fresh and helped to cut through richness of other dishes. nothing mind blowing gnocchi: one of the best gnocchis i’ve had. the ricotta base made for a lighter flavor and loved the mushrooms fingerling potatoes: must try - crispy, garlicky, rich scallops: perfectly cooked but overpriced tiramisu: delicious but nothing mind blowing."- Andrea Santos
"If I could give six stars, I would! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, clearly proud of their food—and for good reason. We ordered the chicory salad, spaghetti, lasagnette, and chicken, and everything was delicious. The spaghetti, in particular, was absolutely outstanding. To top it off, they surprised us with tiramisu to celebrate a birthday, which was such a thoughtful gesture. We’ll definitely be coming back!"- Hanna Kang
"Incredible!! The raviol was truly the best thing I’ve ever eaten and cannoli was divine! The service was top of the line and Abraham took amazing care of us! So professional and friendly!"- grace kneapler
"Excellent food, service, and atmosphere at very reasonable prices in a picturesque SF location (the Hyde Street cable car runs right outside the window). Our server Kaleigh was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu, but also for the tiramisu."- John David Remington
