What Diners Are Saying
"I’ve been to Restaurant Gish several times, and each visit brings new and unexpected delights. The April 2025 menu is centered around lamb, offering a creative and adventurous tasting experience. The first course, a pâté with sweet and sour notes, was a refreshing way to start the meal and really whetted my appetite. The second course, featuring lamb heart, was beautifully cooked — tender with a rich, earthy flavor that stood out. The main course, a lamb rack, was slightly undercooked for my taste, but still flavorful and well-seasoned. Dessert was a highlight. The pea ice cream was playful and unexpected, paired with fresh fruit that added brightness and contrast. We had the wine paring as well but I don’t think the wine pairing aligned perfectly with the courses, but the wines themselves were well-chosen and enjoyable on their own. The atmosphere at Gish is intimate and refined, yet unpretentious. The minimalist decor and soft lighting create a calm, focused dining environment that lets the food shine. Service was attentive but relaxed, contributing to a comfortable and memorable evening."- Betty Wu
"Visited for the first time Saturday night and had a great experience. The April 2025 menu was French based with some Korean elements that we really enjoyed. Each dish was intentional, beautiful, and delicious in line with French influences but with familiar flavors. It was also a lot of food and very filling for 4 courses with an affordable wine list as well so the value is great too. Highly recommend and we'll be back once the menu changes again!"- Joyce Lee
"Wow. Wow wow wow. One more wow. Honestly I'm pasty white and reading some of the descriptions of the dishes I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the food here. Squid ink yogurt? Puréed squid soup base? Hmmm. However, after experiencing Gish, I can't wait to come back. Every single dish wasnt just delicious, it was intentional in its construction. Layers of perfectly managed flavours and textures seamlessly came together into a complete and powerful but not over the top whole in every bite. I can't say enough good about these dishes that had me unsure just hours ago. I won't question it again, feed me whatever you can think of if this is the kind of food you serve. The service was also fantastic, kind, responsive and fun. The atmosphere was a calm and authentic. I honestly can't find enough good to say about this place other than I look forward to next months menu, I'll be there whatever it is. One more final wow."- Logan Crump
"Honestly, this is the best restaurant in the south Bay in my opinion. I lived in San Francisco for eight years and coming down on the peninsula and being in the south bay has been hard to find places that feel really authentic and intimate at the same time. It’s really a special place and all of the chefs, owners and servers are friendly, conversational, and love to tell you about the dishes. It’s also hard for me to find a restaurant that has a different menu each month and this is really what makes this place special. The chefs are really creative when it comes to the modern Korean fusion menu and every dish is expertly crafted. The place is so small and only holds maybe 30 people which to me adds to the charm. Having a beautiful open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work is also a nice touch. It’s also one of the most affordable fixed menus in my opinion for what you get. I think a lot of places in the city could charge twice as much. $79 for 4 generous courses I think it’s very affordable. They have also added some really great nonalcoholic beverages that aren’t loaded with sugar, which is a huge plus for me. It’s definitely a place that I want to come on a monthly basis."- Shanna Miller
"Restaurant Gish offers a unique dining experience with a focus on Korean fusion cuisine. The menu is prix fixe and seasonally driven, blending modern Korean flavors with contemporary American touches. We appreciate the meticulous attention to detail, both in the food presentation and the attentive, non-intrusive service. The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, with light background music, making it a great choice for a romantic evening. All the dishes were so delicious and I would love to come back every month when they change the seasonal menu! Such a treat and we loved chatting with Stan, Ray, Areum, and Ben! It's definitely worth a visit! We will be back very soon."- C Lee
